Iowa Country Winter Engagement Session - Taylor & Collin
With Taylor and Collin’s wedding day less than a week away, it’s the perfect time to share more of their wintery engagement session. We started their session with their dog Maverick. I love when couples want to get a few photos with their pets and always recommend doing these photos during the first 15 minutes or last 15 minutes. After spending some exploring in the woods, we went to an open spot in the country that had the most beautiful views of the valley 😍I’m so excited to photograph these two again at The Hidden Acre in Waverly Iowa this Saturday with all their family and friends!

I love when couples want to get a few photos with their pets and always recommend doing these photos during the first 15 minutes or last 15 minutes. I suggest having a friend/family member bring your pet(s) or tag along to help corral and watch them after, so you can relax and fully enjoy your engagement session. Bringing a few treats and their favorite toy never hurts as well 🙂Maverick was so excited about the snow and was such a good boy sitting and even smiled right at me!
After spending some exploring in the woods, we went to an open spot in the country that had the most beautiful views of the valley 😍Can you believe it was under 20 degrees in these photos? To say it was cold was an understatement (we took several warm up breaks), but these two were troopers and made the below freezing temps look hot 🔥
I’m so excited to photograph these two again at The Hidden Acre in Waverly Iowa this Saturday with all their family and friends!
Alayna and Michael Downtown Des Moines Engagement Session
Alayna and Michael wanted to spend time at their first date spots during their engagement session which I LOVED. It’s one of my favorite things when couples choose to be photographed in sentimental spots that are important to them. We started out at a rooftop to get some classic and fun Des Moines city photos, then moved to get coffee at Horizon Line (one of my local favorites), which happens to be the starting spot of their first date.

After realizing how perfect these two were for one another, we walked to the park and they told me their goofy and super cute story of their first kiss in the exact spot we were sitting. Next we took the long way to their favorite bar and ended the night sharing a drinks and just chatting about wedding planning and life more. These two were so fun and they had me smiling the entire time and honestly made me feel like an old friend. I am so excited to be photographing these two wedding day this fall. Amber and Andrew Engagement Session | Kellogg Iowa Engagement Photographer
Even though it called for rain all day Amber and Andrew let me know that they were still up for their engagement session at Rock Creek State Park and were excited! I love when my couples go with the flow of non-ideal weather and trust in me to still get genuine moments of them.

I love when my couples go with the flow of non-ideal weather and trust in me to still get genuine moments of them. We explored the grounds together and I brought along few umbrellas just in case it started to downpour during their session. It sprinkled off and on, but that didn’t diminish Amber or Andrew’s smile at all.
I had so much fun walking around and exploring the park with Amber and Andrew. Their engagement session got me so excited for their wedding day!
I love engagement session because I get to spend time with my couples, get to know them during the hour, and help them become more comfortable in front of the camera. I have availability for 2020 weddings and would love to capture your wedding day 🙂
Hannah + Tate: Decorah Engagement Session | Decorah Wedding Photographer
I’ve known Hannah since she was in middle school and met Tate at my wedding almost two years ago. The minute I saw them slow dancing together I knew I was witnessing something special. Naturally, I was so excited to see them get engaged and then when Hannah said they wanted me to photograph their wedding that was just icing on the cake!

Fast forward to their engagement session, Tate carried in a little box and explains they played cribbage on their very first date and thought he’d bring it just in case. Queue my heart melting into a puddle of sentimental sap. After sipping coffee, reminiscing, and a few minutes of them being their adorable selves we headed outside to take advantage of the rain free hour. Praise Jesus! Tate was laying on the kisses and making Hannah smile and giggle the whole time. Their love was so genuine and contagious; I cannot wait to photograph it again on their wedding day!
