Carson PCM High School Senior Session

Carson is going to be a senior at PCM High School this fall and is most excited for basketball. Can you tell in these photos? 😊🏀 For his session we started out at his house walking around exploring and chatting as I snapped away. He switched outfits and he showed me the barn where he practices basketball every single day in the summertime. After we drove to Prairie City Monroe’s high school and to spend some time at the football stadium. For those of you that are curious his dad brought a ladder (with permission) Carson climbed onto the field goal. Although it was not nearly as sturdy as the basketball hoop he didn’t seem to flinch and we got some super fun shots of him on it. Sitting on the basketball hoop and football post was Carson’s idea (talk about a creative vision!) and I LOVED helping bring it t0 life through his senior photos 🙂Whoever said guy senior photos are boring obviously never talked with Carson.

Iowa Country Winter Engagement Session - Taylor & Collin
With Taylor and Collin’s wedding day less than a week away, it’s the perfect time to share more of their wintery engagement session. We started their session with their dog Maverick. I love when couples want to get a few photos with their pets and always recommend doing these photos during the first 15 minutes or last 15 minutes. After spending some exploring in the woods, we went to an open spot in the country that had the most beautiful views of the valley 😍I’m so excited to photograph these two again at The Hidden Acre in Waverly Iowa this Saturday with all their family and friends!

I love when couples want to get a few photos with their pets and always recommend doing these photos during the first 15 minutes or last 15 minutes. I suggest having a friend/family member bring your pet(s) or tag along to help corral and watch them after, so you can relax and fully enjoy your engagement session. Bringing a few treats and their favorite toy never hurts as well 🙂Maverick was so excited about the snow and was such a good boy sitting and even smiled right at me!
After spending some exploring in the woods, we went to an open spot in the country that had the most beautiful views of the valley 😍Can you believe it was under 20 degrees in these photos? To say it was cold was an understatement (we took several warm up breaks), but these two were troopers and made the below freezing temps look hot 🔥
I’m so excited to photograph these two again at The Hidden Acre in Waverly Iowa this Saturday with all their family and friends!
Randi Kate & Brad Wedding - Decorah Iowa
Randi-Kate and Brad were high school sweethearts who said I do to forever at Decorah Lutheran Church in front of all their family and friends. The amount of support and love they had from their family and friend was so sweet and very evident throughout their wedding day. Although it was oddly warm and there was no snow in sight these two still had a beautiful winter wonderland wedding day.

Danielle and Jake Greater Des Moines Botanical Gardens Engagement
Danielle, Jake, and I all went to UNI together just a year apart and actually majored in the same thing: Graphic Design. It was so fun to reconnect and swap stories about shared experiences and professors. We started our time at the Botanical Gardens.
Danielle, Jake, and I all went to UNI together just a year apart and actually majored in the same thing: Graphic Design. It was so fun to reconnect and swap stories about shared experiences and professors. We started our time at the Botanical Gardens. Danielle and Jake explained that they work from home and often find themselves working from the upper botanical garden space, so it seemed like the obvious choice to have their engagement pictures in this special spot. 😊

These two were so effortlessly stylish and their esthetic was made for the Botanical Garden in my humble opinion. After we left the the garden, they sweetly asked if it was okay if we switched up the second location and went to their favorite bar instead, Up-Down. I LOVE when couples want to be photographed in spots that are important to them, so I said Heck yes! and we headed downtown to finish their engagement photos.
I had a blast hanging out with Danielle and Jake and it got me SO excited for their wedding this August 😍(engagement sessions always do).
Alayna and Michael Downtown Des Moines Engagement Session
Alayna and Michael wanted to spend time at their first date spots during their engagement session which I LOVED. It’s one of my favorite things when couples choose to be photographed in sentimental spots that are important to them. We started out at a rooftop to get some classic and fun Des Moines city photos, then moved to get coffee at Horizon Line (one of my local favorites), which happens to be the starting spot of their first date.

After realizing how perfect these two were for one another, we walked to the park and they told me their goofy and super cute story of their first kiss in the exact spot we were sitting. Next we took the long way to their favorite bar and ended the night sharing a drinks and just chatting about wedding planning and life more. These two were so fun and they had me smiling the entire time and honestly made me feel like an old friend. I am so excited to be photographing these two wedding day this fall. Scroll through to see their infectious smiles and love for one another!
